The vast majority of people think that getting in shape is a simple matter of exercising and eating healthy foods. Overall, this is partially correct only and there are other important factors. I’ve created this page as to outline all of these factors and then rank them in order of priority from highest to lowest. How easy each of these factors has been for me is also a deciding factor in how I ranked them as well.
The three factors I’ve come up with are below listed from what I feel is most important to least important. But all factors must be included if you want to get in shape and keep it that way. The three factors are eating healthy, dedication and lastly exercising properly.
Eating properly simply means to stick to the old fashioned foods like potatoes, steak, chicken, healthy vegetables (steamed or grilled make them tasty), fish, etc. If there is one general rule to solve your problems when it comes to eating right, it’s that you should rarely eat take out food and never eat food that comes frozen nor should you eat any of the frozen boxed food from the freezers.
Staying dedicated is the key to fitness success and a lot of people subliminally already know this but they never take it serious enough. The reason why I put dedication even before exercising is because anyone can exercise at all. But staying dedicated is the key.
Some things to help you stay dedicated are knowing that what your doing (exercising) is good for your heart, good for your health and makes for a happier lifestyle. Being in shape changes your mood as well. You feel more confident and livelier and you also look and feel great. Keep this in mind and now you can say your mind is set for getting in shape.
Always remember you’re not the only one doing this and if for some reason you feel that way then it’s time to head to the gym to meet others or perhaps find a friend for a workout partner.
This happens to be the easiest part of staying fit and in shape. Naturally we exercise all the time just by walking around during the day. If you want to kick it up a notch you can try starting to jog for half hour periods. Don’t start right away at half hour periods, first jog for a few minutes, then walk, then jog again, then walk until you build up to 30 minutes.
In a couple of months you can go from jogging from three minute intervals to half an hour easily. When you’re ready to kick it up a notch you know what to do now that you got your mind set.
